Dear Idlewood Elementary School Family,
Welcome back to the 2019-2020 school year! As your new principal, it is my distinct pleasure to join the Idlewood Elementary School Community. I am looking forward to an extraordinary year full of excitement, engagement, and excellence, and I appreciate the opportunity to serve you!
As a mother of two lovely daughters, Taylor and Tori, and a granddaughter, Kamryn who is two years old, I am driven as a leader to work with you to provide the best education possible to our students. I am a native of Baltimore, Maryland, but have lived in the Metro Atlanta Area for most of my life. I am a product of DeKalb Schools having attended Flat Shoals Elementary School, Canby Lane Elementary School, and I am a proud graduate of Redan High School. I have fifteen years of educational experience as an elementary/middle school teacher, a school guidance counselor, assistant principal, and most recently a principal in Metro Nashville Public Schools.
We, the Idlewood Mustangs are a winning team....we are champions, and as your leader, I am devoted to success for all! My commitments to the Idlewood Community are (1) to always give my very best; (2) servant leadership with shared decision-making; (3) a trusting, warm and collaborative environment that optimizes teaching and learning; and (4) transparency through clear, honest and open communication.
Over the next few weeks, I am excited about the opportunity to get to know the staff, parents and students to further learn the culture, climate and needs of the Idlewood community. It is my belief that working collaboratively with all stakeholders will ultimately lead to the success of all Idlewood students, therefore, please know that my door is always open to your input.
I am dedicated to the vision of a student-centered community that focuses on the core elements of teaching, learning, and caring. I look forward to building positive relationships with each of you!
